Trust your intuition. I've been preaching the power of "living in the moment" for years. Sometimes I do it, sometimes I don't...but I know I should. The hula hoop has taught me this. You see, when you are standing in that magical circle, you have to be present or you may drop it on your foot. You also have to be joyful because, well, you're hula hooping. Being grumpy and absent, is pretty much impossible in the hoop.
A few months ago, I got a "nudge" to go to a particular grocery store, that was not on my route home. I was busy and didn't even like the store, but I listened and made the turn to go off route. It was like I didn't even have a choice. I walked through the store, grabbed my random items and headed to the checkout. While I was standing there, I saw it. It practically jumped into my arms. It was O, The Oprah Magazine. It was Oprah standing in front of an Airstream Camper drinking tea...and I wanted that to be me. The large captain said, "How to be a Happier Camper"...all I saw was camper, because I wanted to be a camper, and a happy one at that. Later that evening, as I was getting ready to fall asleep, I remembered I had bought the magazine. I got up and grabbed it, and started shuffling through the pages. I read about getting unstuck and looked at pictures of food and envisioned my PowerHoopz hula hoops in the magazine as Oprah's Favorite Things. As I was about to nod off, I saw a little ad asking if you wanted to join the Inner Circle of O. I thought to myself, a circle, a hula hoop...they must be talking to me, right. So I got my phone out, went to the website and started filling everything out. The questions seemed to be directed specifically to me so I breezed through them, like I already knew the answers to the test. As I was finishing up and getting tired, I noticed that it gave a date and time that this had to be submitted. Well, since I'm always living in the moment, I usually don't even know what day or time it is, but I checked anyway. Wait, the day was that day...and the time that it had to be submitted... 11:59pm. So I check my phone, and it is 11:58pm. I had one minute to spare, so I finished up with my final sentence and hit submit. My final sentence....I put the O in O Magazine. A few weeks later, I got the magical email saying I had been chosen to be part of O Magazine... with one minute to spare. How's that for living in the moment. And how's that for proof that one moment can change everything. I couldn't be more excited to start this journey with O Magazine the 49 other Omazing Insiders that were chosen that same day. Join me on this journey to be inspired to be the happiest camper you can be.
